Hi, my name is Philip King, and welcome to this video tutorial on installing Internet Information Services (IIS).

  • In this tutorial you will learn how to install Internet Information Services (IIS).

This is the first of a three part step by step guide to Internet Information Services (IIS) covering the installation, de-activation and activation and removal of IIS. In this first session we are going to install IIS.

Instructions

  1. To begin, click the Windows Start button.
  2. Select – Setting > Control Panel to select the Control Panel menu item.
  3. Select Add or Remove programs.
  4. With the Add or Remove Programs Window open click the Add/Remove Windows Components button, this opens the Windows Components Wizard window.
  5. Scroll down until you find the Internet Information Services component and select the Internet Information Services (IIS) component check box and click the next button to copy the files. The process of building the list of files to copy will then begin.
  6. If you did not insert your Windows installation disc at the beginning, you may need to insert your Windows installation disc at this point so the necessary files can be found.
  7. Click the OK button when you are ready to proceed.
  8. When configuring components has finished, click the finish button.
  9. Close the Add or Remove Programs window.
  10. Close the Add remove programs window.
  11. Close the Control Panel Window.

Congratulations, we are finished, you have just installed Internet Information Services on your computer.
