How to run your own affiliate program

So, you want to run your own affiliate program with the following provisos:

  • You want to sell a product or service or both.
  • You want to earn money using the affiliate marketing channel.
  • You don’t want to advertise other peoples products or services.
  • You don’t want to spend a small fortune setting the system up.

First the good news, there’s nothing to stop you. You don’t need to have a large budget and you don’t have to be a large company with oodles of resources. You can setup your own affiliate program for just a couple of hundred pounds (GBP).

Now the bad news. If you’re not going to use one of the affiliate network setup programs, which can cost thousands of pounds (GBP) in setup and monthly running fee’s, then you are going to have to invest your time and do some work. Sorry about that, but that’s life.

Best ISP for WordPress and eBusiness

top 10 ISPs

JustHost solution HostGator solution BlueHost solution HostMonster solution GoDaddy solution

In this article I’m simply going to state my methods and findings from when I was looking for an ISP (Internet Service Provider) to host this website.

I will provide details of the best ISP’s I could find for those, like me, wanting their own WordPress web site and those wanting to start their own ebusiness. My final top five ISP can be seen on the right. I started with no knowledge of business other than doing a little selling on eBay and no knowledge of Web CMS’s (Content Management System) at all.

I’m a lot wiser than I was when I started and hopefully my experiences can save you a little heartache and money.

Broken Link Checker

by Philip King

What do you think of the websites you visit that have broken links? What do you think your visitors think of the broken links on your website?

Broken links on your website give a negative impression. Visitor frustration through wasted time and the negative impression due to unreliable information are just two of the impacts broken links can have. I’m sure you can think of many more implications.

So, add this to your website rules, check your website regularly for broken links. Ensure links do not return a 404 error (I’ll take it as read that you do have a user friendly 404 error page on your website) and where possible make sure the links are still pointing to the intended resource and haven’t been switch to some sleazy marketing or adult content page.
