AdSense for WordPress Introduction

Implementing and tweaking AdSense ads on a WordPress blog can be tedious especially if you’re not into coding and simply want to post your articles, run a small business or membership site. Well you’ll be glad to hear that WordPress plugins have come to your rescue once again.

In this article I will quickly cover several AdSense for WordPress plugins which help you implement and control AdSense ads on your WordPress site.

(1) compatibility with the latest version of WordPress,

(2) the plugin is actively updated regularly,

(3) an active support group if possible.

All in One Adsense and YPN Pro: Score 3/5

All in One Adsense and YPN is a Free and Open Source WordPress plugin which is able to automatically insert google adsense ads or yahoo publisher network (YPN) ads in to your posts on the fly. It doesn’t matter if you have 1 post or 100,000 posts, it will insert your ad code into all of them automatically. You can control all aspects of your ad’s display and position. Just specify ad color and position in the plugin options, your ad code is automatically generated and inserted. Advanced users can add html and css code before and after the ad to have total control of the ad display.

Easy AdSense: Score 3/5

Easy AdSense is the freely distributed version of a premium plugin. Easy AdSense provides a very easy way to generate revenue from your blog using Google AdSense. With its full set of features, Easy AdSense is perhaps the first plugin to give you a complete solution for everything AdSense-related.

WARNING: Check this works with your theme carefully (see the FAQ) as some themes seem to be having trouble displaying AdSense.

Ad Injection: Score 4/5

Ad Injection injects any kind of advert or other content (e.g. Google AdSense, Amazon Associates, ClickBank, TradeDoubler, etc) into the existing content of your WordPress posts and pages. You can control the number of adverts based on the post length, and it can restrict who sees adverts by post age, visitor referrer and IP address. Adverts can be configured in the post (random, top, and bottom positions) or in any widget/sidebar area. There’s support for A:B split testing / ad rotation.

AdSense Manager: Score 3/5

AdSense Manager lets you manage your ads from within WordPress. AdSense Manager supports most Ad networks including AdBrite, AdRoll, Project Wonderful and plain old HTML code.

Google Analytics for WordPress: Score 4/5

This is not strictly AdSense but is directly related, so, track your WordPress site easily and with lots of metadata: views per author & category, automatic tracking of outbound clicks and pageviews.
