AdSense for WordPress Without Plugins
AdSense for WordPress Without Plugins
AdSense for WordPress Introduction
In this article I will show you how to add AdSense to your WordPress blog without using plugins. This method, which utilises the text widget, should take about five minutes to implement on a typical WordPress installation.
- Implementing and tweaking AdSense ads on a WordPress blog can be tedious especially if you’re not into coding and simply want to post your articles, run a small business or membership site. Well you’ll be glad to hear that WordPress plugins have come to your rescue once again. See my article, AdSense for WordPress Plugins.
- If you require more than traditional web analytics, try ClickTale. ClickTale’s analytics service is qualitative and provides a full video playback option for each individual visitor’s session. In addition, it uses meta statistics to create visual heatmaps and behavioural reports, as well as conversion analytics and traditional web statistics. For more information see my ClickTale review.

The following is the method needed to add your Google AdSense code to WordPress. Please do not enter this example code. You must get your own unique code from Google AdSense.
- Login as administrator to your blog.
- Select Appearance > Widgets from the Dashboard menu.
- Select the zone where you will place the AdSense code, i.e., Sidebar 1.
- Drag a ‘Text’ widget from the Available Widgets area to this zone.
- Open the Text widget for editing if it didn’t open automatically.
- Enter a Title if required.
- Paste your AdSense code into the text area.
- Click the ‘Save’ button.
Browse to one of your blog pages and you should now see Ads from Google AdSense showing in the zone you selected, i.e., Sidebar 1.
