A Mantra Can Also be Your Mission Statement

With the influx of Eastern spirituality into Western culture, the idea of the mantra has found its way into the business world. In business, a mantra should summarises a companies mission statement in a short and snappy memorable way.

Mantra Origins

Mantras originated in the Vedic tradition of India, becoming an essential part of the Sikh and Hindu tradition and a customary practice within Buddhism and Jainism.

In Indian religions mantra is a Sanskrit term for a sound, syllable, word, or group of words that is considered capable of “creating transformation” Its use and type varies according to the school and philosophy associated with the mantra. The word, “mantra,” translates from Sanskrit as “to free from the mind”.

Mission Statements

A mission statement is a statement of the companies purpose, its reason for existing. A mission statement should guide the actions of the organization, not just its goals. What can your company do for the World? A mantra can also be your mission statement.
