How to Find Your Facebook ID or Admin ID

I’ve been trying to install some WordPress social share button plugins and each requires very similar information such as Twitter and Google+1 usernames which was fine, but then I was asked for a Facebook App ID and a Facebook Admin ID! What on earth is a Facebook App ID or a Facebook Admin ID? Both of these had me stumped.

Well after searching on Facebook for about fifteen minutes I finally found the answer, so I thought I’d share it.

  • The simple things are always the most illusive!

WordPress, Facebook Interface

So, the problem is that when you want your website, such as WordPress, to talk to Facebook, you need to provide a method for them to communicate the information. Social media plugins in particular require the Facebook App ID, the Facebook Admin ID and possibly the Page Admin ID.

  • Facebook Admin ID’s CSV – that’s the ID for your Facebook account you registered your app with. It allows you to moderate comments on your site.

Solution!

The answer is easy! Presuming you are the administrator for the Facebook page, i.e., it’s your Facebook page and not a company page with a separate administrator then your Facebook ID / Facebook user ID, is your Admin ID, since you are the administrator of your own Facebook pages.

  • Your Admin ID is your Facebook user ID.

The simplest way to discover the relevant information is to go to the Facebook Graph API Explorer by clicking here. Here you will see an “id” number, this is your Facebook user ID and your Admin ID.

Well, I hope you found something useful and enjoyed this article, How to Find Your Facebook ID or Admin ID.
