Is Get Paid to Draw a Scam, Hype or Does it Work?

Definition, SCAM: A person, company, organisation etc. who steals your money without giving you anything in exchange. A fraudulent business scheme; to defraud, a swindle.

  • Given the above definition, Get Paid to Draw is not a scam.

With Get Paid to Draw, you will receive the product for which you are paying, though if you do not have or can acquire the necessary skills you may not reap the rewards you were expecting.

What’s it All About?

In theory, as the title suggests, you will be getting paid for the photographs you take and the drawing you produce. They claim you can become a professional artist and earn money by submitting your drawings, art and photos to the outlets they suggest.

They say that you can do this in 3 simple steps

  • Create: Learn how to take pictures with your camera, or create drawings.
  • Upload: List your drawings and pictures on various sites that are used by publishers.
  • Get Paid: When someone downloads your picture or drawing, you get a commission for each use. The best part, you can sell the same material over and over again (residual income).

Right now there is a huge demand for high quality pictures, drawings and images online for advertising campaigns etc. and a shortage of people supplying them. These pictures could be pictures of your pets, fruit, trees, literally almost anything you can take with your camera or draw by hand. You don’t have to be a professional artist or photographer either, though you do need the capabilities to produce a high quality product.

  • In 2010, spending on advertising was estimated at $142.5 billion in the United States and $467 billion worldwide. [wikipedia]
  • General Motors spent $4.2 billion on advertising, Ford $3.9 billion, AT&T $2.9 billion, Verizon $2.5 billion, Citigroup $1.6 billion, Hewlett-Packard $1 billion, and the list goes on. [businessinsider.com]

Skills and Qualifications Required?

On the sales page they say, no experience is required and anyone can do this, as you will be shown exactly what to do in the step-by-step ebook. You only need internet access and basic drawing skills to make this course work for you.

Review

Whilst I know it is possible to earn a good living as a graphics artist on the internet, is just not as easy as the website claims. Unless your very lucky or very talented there’s a lot of hard work involved.

I really dislike the, Get Paid to Draw, website hype. The sales page alone makes claims which are difficult to believe. They claim a ‘student’ earned over £1,500 per month by using this method, but there’s no proof in their sales material that this was true. There’s lots of claims stating what you could earn from your drawings and photos but again no proof. This is a pity given the obvious fact that many graphic artists are making a good living. There’s really no need for the hype.

If you are an artist or photographer then the learning how to draw part of the course will probably be too simplistic for you. The most valuable part of this course will be the methods on how and where to sell your drawings and photos.

As with so many topics these days, you can find the information supplied in the course for free online but this will take considerable time and effort. It will probably be easier just to pay the smallish fee, get the listing of who will buy your artwork, glean additional information and swap ideas with others like yourself in the members area.

  • You do have the 60 days money back guarantee so if you find this isn’t worth your while then you can claim a full refund.

Get Paid to Draw Review Conclusion

I think the Get Paid to Draw course will have the most appeal to those who already have artistic talents and want to make some extra cash, a student, stay at home parent or someone retired perhaps.

This will be an ongoing business that you will have to keep dedicating your time and effort to. I suspect those people who specialise in very narrow niche areas will have the most success.

  • They do say in their literature, this isn’t a ‘get rich quick scheme’ and give you a potential earnings calculator which might be worth checking out if you’re interested in this course.

This type of business is obviously for the creative types. Do you have any artistic talent? No! Then this is not for you. If on the other hand you are artistic and capable of producing high quality drawings, paintings, photographs, etc. then you could make a decent living this way or at the very least pay for your hobby.

Well, I hope you found something useful and enjoyed this article, Get Paid to Draw Review.
